Engine & Trim
There are only four trim levels to choose from on the Prius, here's a little summary of the major differences between them -
Active - This is the entry-level model, you get 15" alloy wheels, LED headlights, Pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, Adaptive Cruise Control and reversing camera.
Business Edition - On top of the features seen in the Active trim, the business trim adds a futuristic heads-up display system, wireless phone charger, leather steering wheel and heated front seats.
Business Edition Plus - There isn't much extra over the standard business edition trim for the plus, the only major difference is the added sat-nav, parking sensors and larger 17" alloy wheels.
Excel - This is the top of the range model, you get all the benefits of the other trim levels plus leather seats and an improved JBL sound system.
As for the engine, the Prius sports a 1.8-litre petrol hybrid with an automatic gearbox. It has 122 brake horsepower and a 0-60 time of 10.6 seconds. The fuel economy is where the Prius really shines though, which does an average of 83 mpg!
