Even though covid was four years ago, getting hold of a test date is still difficult. So, when you finally get one you would like to pass the first time. Taking your test can feel quite overwhelming but with the correct preparation and tips, it will be a walk in the park.

When you’re having your driving lesson make sure you’re practicing in the area that you are taking your test in. Even though it’s not possible to know the exact test route you can always be more familiar with the roads and routes that may come up on your test day. You can even have a look on YouTube if there are videos of mock tests taken at your test centre. Watching mock videos on YouTube can help a lot. There are plenty of channels that post driving mocks, and they show what learners pick up the minors on. There are even videos on people’s lessons. If you are aware of what other people failed on you are more likely to avoid and prepare accordingly. There are loads of videos and resources that you can get access to outside of your weekly lessons.

When you’re taking lessons with your instructor make sure to listen to all the feedback they give you. If you don’t already, make sure you ask questions that you may have. Most instructors have had plenty of learners who have gone and passed the first time. If you are not sure about the show me, tell me questions, make sure you ask and revise them beforehand. If you are taking your test in your instructor’s car, ask about all the functions as many times as you need.

Throughout the duration of your test, it’s important to stay confident. If you make a mistake, it’s not over keep a positive attitude. Having a confident mindset helps you remain calm and focused.  After doing all the practice that is required to pass, do not forget to turn up to your test with at least ten to fifteen minutes to spare and with your provisional license.
