The Skoda Superb is an excellent family car. The vehicle has a number of features that makes it perfect for everyday driving.
The Superb's boot lid opening has a clever twin hatch. The simple system's two buttons let you open the boot or also lift the hatch. It takes a second for the hatch function to engage, but it does allow for uncompromised access to the big boot. The 595-litre capacity is impressive, and when the back seats are folded; it frees up over 1,700 litres, which is much bigger than the Skoda's rivals. Moreover, space in the back seats of the Skoda is fantastic. There's plenty of legroom, while B-pillar vents provide fresh air. Which means that there will not be any more uncomfortable rides for passengers.
The Superb received five stars when it was assessed for safety regulations by Euro NCAP. This could be because all models come with electronic stability control, seven airbags and a seat belt reminder buzzer. All Skoda Superb models get air conditioning, cruise control, a Bluetooth phone connection, and all-round electric windows. The Superb's top speed is claimed to be 128mph and 0-60mph is achieved in 10 seconds. Furthermore, the Skoda's body control at speed, over undulations and through bends is brilliant. It also displays resilient grip, terrific poise and assertive steering. The most efficient engine available is a 1.6 TDI diesel engine. Various aerodynamic and gearbox tweaks means that it can deliver 67.3mpg fuel economy and very low 109g/km CO2 emissions.
TopGear magazine says: "The fact that the name doesn't sound too ironic tells you all you need to know. Huge cabin, ace quality, bargain pricing".
